Restaurant Listings found on dineout.co.nz and menumania.co.nz
Ok, here's a few notes on the list, just from reading and names I noticed initially weren't there.
ReplyDelete* Anarkhand on george st (sp?)
* Blacket lane (down the same alley as Fever Club. Not sure how their menu looks at the moment but worth a look-in at least.)
* CIA
* Dost Turkish on princes st (opposite the 24)
* Friendly's satay (you may have it as Khmer satay, not sure. it's up by gov's)
* I think Phoebe's may have closed
* Sampan
* Sol bar hasn't existed for a few years. It became Stock Xchange, and is now Stadium bar
* Starters Bar (kitchen is called "Hungry Bellies" or something)
* Strictly coffee (although they may not have ANY food, don't know)
* The Baa (Gt King St)
* Tiffany's, Centre City Mall
Not sure what selection criteria you're using, but is Poppas worth a mention? Or are you ruling out that kind of fast food?
I know there are places I will have missed. There are some places I don't know the names of, which may be in here or may not, I might check later.
Also keen to see your reviewing criteria when you've finalised them :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the add's. Have put them on the list.
ReplyDeleteSo far have no exact criteria for reviewing. Its going to be more about discovery and experiencing all these places, im going to have a rating for food, service, environment, price based on personal expectations and past experiences in really bad (Rainforest - which was the most awkward lunch ever) and really good (Becasse in Sydney which had real French waiters) restaurants.
Just noticed Albar isn't on here.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've been to quite a few of these places, if you're interested in recommendations for what to order etc, let me know and i'll let you know where I've been and what I recommend (and recommend to stay away from), and other helpful hints about the place. If you'd rather work all that out for yourself, then by all means.
Also, some of these places I haven't been yet but am keen to go to at some point. So I will def be following this blog, but also, if you find yourself in need of a reviewing partner at any point (e.g. so you can order more than one meal) give a shout.
Ooooh, Fluid - on Forth/Union Street. They do the most amazing coffee, but incredible gluten-free food (so my celiac friend tells me). I go for their coffee & amazing rye/chook/brie/cranberry buns. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dunedin-New-Zealand/Fluid-Espresso/152888782396
ReplyDeleteYou do not have Red Rocket (Inch Bar) - it is the best tapas going here...
